EXERCISE FOR BRAIN RECOVERY

There are studies proving that physical exercise is as good for our brains as it is for our bodies. That comes as a disappointment to those of us who prefer a sedentary lifestyle (like me). Luckily for us, cognitive exercises like brain teasers, puzzles and games are also very good for our brains. Sudoku anyone? Chess? Individuals who are cognitively and physically active are less likely to contract neurological disorders; and if they do, their symptoms tend to be less severe and their recovery better (Stranahan & Mattson, 2012; Voss et al., 2013).
