Treatment and contraception

Hi all, I have been on Avonex since I was diagnosed last year. I was told that the pills are rarely prescribed to young women because of possible pregnancy and that it would be better for me to use injections. I'm 100% sure that I don't want to have children, but I didn't mentioned it to my doctor back then. 12 months passed and I still feel bad when using Avonex because of its side effects and also I have a huge fear of needles. I feel stressed before the injection to the point where I feel nauseous. I am thinking of asking the doctor to change my medication. Will they force me to use contraception safer than condoms? Can they refuse to prescribe pills if I want to continue using only condoms?

Be firm to your dr about not wanting to have children. I just say no and the conversation ends there. They wont force you but they will ask and its highly recommended. Look for the highest efficiency medication you can get.
