Advice....
Hi, I'm currently having investigations into MS.
My optician has just referred me urgently to the ophthalmologist as there are "big issues" with my eyes (but she didn't go into a lot of detail-just said the problems match up with the other symptoms I told her about).
So I now have an appointment to see an ophthalmologist and another appointment to see a neurologist with 24 hours of each other.
My memory is terrible at the moment and even though all notes should be accessible to all doctors etc, I'm not convinced they will be within 24 hours of the appointment, or that I'll remember accurately.
Would you ask the Ophthalmologist to print a letter or notes with any findings from the appointment and tests or has anyone done anything like this before? I just want to make sure nothing is delayed because of not having the most recent or accurate information.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
You are totally right to ensure all information passes between the practitioners. Especially during this time. I think, that they will send information electronically. I would recommend, if you have experienced symptoms, that have come and gone, to write it down. This will help your memory in the appointment. The Doctor may conduct a neurological examination and send you for further tests. All the best.
Best of luck 🤞
