Gilenya and Pregnancy

I’m struggling with the thoughts of when I want to start trying for a baby next year. I’m in college and graduate in September and I always said I wanted to start trying once I’m finished college but now that I’m on Gilenya everything has to be planned. Ideally I don’t want to finish college off my meds because the risk of relapse is so high and don’t want it affecting my internship but don’t want to start work and be out sick straight away either. Then the longer it takes to conceive the longer I’m off my meds the more at risk I am to deterioration. I’m just so stressed about it even though it’s so far away. If anyone has been in the same situation I would love your thoughts on it. Thanks 😊

Hi Ciara, Best medication for you is Low Dose Naltrexone. It's great for MS, safe in pregnancy, improves birth weight, helps with all sorts of things. Don't be stressing, that'll lower your fertility. Instead, know that you will be well, because we know of your troubles. Problems shared are problems halved. You can get in touch with Dicksons in Glasgow here: https://dicksonchemist.co.uk/new/contact-us/ They'll be able to sort you out with LDN. See also Dr. Phil Boyle on Youtube. You'll be fine :)
