Battling MS
Battling MS
Joely Poely joined the military when he heard their call
Joely Poely was only 29 when he was diagnosed with MS and lost it all
All the Doctor’s Nurses and all the Specialist’s pills to sustain
Couldn’t put Joely Poely back together again
Multiple sclerosis takes away nerves and the brain
Shattering a world and replacing it full of pain
But the worst is hurting close family with a depressive mind
And trying to keep it together, please don’t unwind
Watching as hateful words escape out and to be never unsaid
Crawling inside a nice warm bed, wishing sometimes to be long dead
Craving to feel happy but the feeling is nothing
Bad thoughts polluted the brain, too much, too crushing
You are a survivor, just look at what you have overcome so far
Leaving family and friends, giving up, is just not who you are
All the pain would pour onto all of them forever
So when that demon whispers in your ear, smile back and say NEVER
The biggest battle is not always what others can see
Not many people understand how hard battling MS can truly be
Every night many people pray for a cure
And everyday we get a little bit closer, together in strength, we endure
I dedicated this poem to those suffering from MS
To those who walk today and my family who are the best.
