Optic Neuritis Experiences

Hi there! I'm Rachel, a 28yo who was diagnosed in July after a severe case of optic neuritis. It went diagnosed incorrectly for a week and over that week, my left eye vision became progressively worse, and eventually all grey/black, which I know is pretty rare for optic neuritis. I was hospitalized twice, the first for five days of IV steroids and the next for Plasmapheresis. I received my first Ocrevus infusion in October. Fast forward almost six months, and my left eye has not recovered in the way that they would expect. Unfortunately, I have no ability to read text, see facial features, see color, etc. It’s still pretty much a grey blur with some tiny improvements since onset (can see outline of objects more clearly). I don’t want to lose hope, but I’m also trying to be realistic. I have lost my driver’s license as a result of this condition. Has anyone else experienced optic neuritis with only partial to limited recovery? If you did recover, what is your vision like now and how long did it take to return to its current state? Thank you so much.

I had Optic Neuritis in September 2018 which led to my diagnosis in June 2019. My vision came back but it's not perfect. I find when I don't wear my glasses I can feel it. When I wear my glasses it disappears. When I get too hot in the summer my vision goes blurry and driving in the dark is not good either. Car headlights and the sun now makes my eyes very sensitive. Be patient. It will come back but it will take a while.
