STICKING TO A DRUG REGIME-NOT!

Looking my own personal experience over the last few years with my ms I reflected that I have tried various drugs for various symptoms and non have ever really done anything to improve me. Be it monadafil, amantadine , gabapentine, baclofen or various vitamin/supplement regimes etc, after a while I stop as the annoying side effects irritate me more than the ms! When I see people ask on the website ''has anyone tried so and so'' it is very common to read the replies or comments ''yes I tried that but.....now I don't'' So is it me or the drug companies trying to push the new 'wonder drug' to answer all our prayers that dont really work, that are at fault? What do you think?

Well, it depends what you're trying to achieve. I found that oxybutinin onclusively sorted out my overactive bladder. Amitriptyline removed neuropathic pain and high-dose vitamin D has worked wonders for my dodgy back. No idea if the copaxone will slow down progression, but it's effectively stopped my relapses. However, the various diet regimes I have tried have done absolutely nothing.....

I've only recently been diagnosed, but I completely feel that doctors are very quick to push a drug onto their patients. I am in the U.S. so it may differ a bit, but regardless of MS or other issues the first thing you are handed is a script. Then handed another script for the side-effects to the original drug and so on and so forth. I've opted to try a more natural/alternative approach for now (which of course may change over time). But either way good luck with whatever path you decide to stick with!
