Hi everybody!! Just started Avonex yesterday.….

…and I feel like I've been struck by a ton of bricks! I have not felt this bad since I got Covid (yes and no- it was negative-)! flu-like symptoms seem to be the main side effect but this is almost unbearable! I just got diagnosed in June of this year so this is all kinda scary so any encouragement or advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

@miss carter73 That was my experience too. I would give it time, and if you still aren't happy with the side effects, change your DMT. I didn't get on with Avonex, and I don't particularly like needles so I managed to change to another DMT, Gilenya (fingolimod). Much happier, no side effects, no relapses and no needles.

This was my experience with Avonex when I tried it 26 years ago, my suggestion would be to keep a medication journal, and track how you are doing, it can take several injections for your system to become used to it. Hopefully this is temporary and Avonex is a good fit for you.
