Star MS Trial

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed in April of this year with RRMS and have been offered the Star MS Trial. I am absolutely considering this, however my biggest concerns are with the risk of infertility / menopause, plus the impact it will have on work. Has anyone had the treatment and can offer any insight? Thank you :)

Hi, this is really interesting. I’ve thought a lot about stem cell therapy since I read “A life in pieces” by Robert Douglas Fairhurst. It’s not an easy read and his symptoms accelerate far faster than mine have but it works for him. Stem cell therapies costs a fortune so, if the trial is free, then it might be worth it! I’m so sorry you have been diagnosed so young but I guess it’s about deciding whether they want you on the trial because it can really help you and the nasty procedures are worth it. Or if they are using you as some sort of Guinea pig…maybe because of your age. My sense is very strongly would Be the former but the treatments described in the book are tough and it’s worth reading parts of the book (parts are pretentious history!) to decide. In the end the author seems very happy with the treatment and it delivers back part of his life he felt he had lost. Sorry not to be more help. You are actually one of the first MSers who lives here me so I could drop or send you the book if it helps (and I can find it!). Good luck!
