Revoked license following CIS diagnosis.

Really needing advice.. as of this afternoon I have been advised by the DVLA that I am no longer allowed to drive, I have to send my license back to them due to my CIS diagnosis. I have been crying all day. I am a health visitor and need my car to work. I was under the impression that this would not happen and that people with MS itself were allowed to drive. Any advice out there. Waiting on my neurologist and doc calling back. Feeling desperate. Thanks Kate

@kateybash that's a totally disgusting decision from the DVLA. All I have heard is that the license may be changed to a 3 year one and you have to go back and be checked for your fitness to drive in these intervals. I hope you soon get the phone call you are waiting for. If you feel you can drive (i.e. eye sight, hand and foot control okay, not too fatigued) this should surely be contestable. poppy

@Stumbler

@kateybash , they may have requested your licence back, whilst the review the situation with your Consultant/Doctor, but you should still be able to drive whilst they have your licence! Have a read through this :- https://www.gov.uk/driving-medical-conditions/telling-dvla-about-a-medical-condition-or-disability and then give the DVLA a call on 0300 790 6806
