Symptoms/ diagnosis/anything else?

Hi, I am currently waiting for a private neurologist appointment (NHS waiting list 8-10mths for initial appointment) my GP has not been overly helpful and infact I have spoken to a different locum every time. The symptoms I have are as follows: difficulty walking on flat surfaces if the pattern of the flooring changes as it appears to change level/depth, this has caused several falls, very stiff legs which do not seem to follow instructions, shooting pains up my legs from my feet upwards, generally exhausted, floaty things in my eyes, occasional pins and needles in feet/hands and a bizarre shiver that goes all over my body even in a hot place. I am 43 in UK

Hi Hannah, it’s a long frustrating wait for a diagnosis, mri’s and lumber punctures too, it took me 3 years for anyone to take my concerns seriously and another 9 months to be diagnosed, there’s a lot of helpful people on here if you need any support. Best of luck. Sue

Hi, i went to a private neurologist due to long nhs waiting lists, i first saw him in august 2022 and within 2 weeks following a full MRI of brain, cervical spine and spine, with & without contrast and so so many blood tests, i was given my MS diagnoses, i was then refered back to nhs as MS treatment isnt licensensed privately, i started on my MS treatment beginning of this month. Its hard to tell symtoms wise if its ms as lots of things can mimic it, the only way of finding out is to have the mri scans and full blood work to rule out other conditions.
