Reaction to Tecfidera

Hi everyone, Recently joined Shift.ms; it's wonderful to be in such a supportive community! I was diagnosed with RRMS a few months ago, and with my consultant decided that Tecfidera was the way to go. However, I had such a bad reaction to it: headaches, chest pain, stiff neck, a fever, and pain whenever I moved in general. I was in so much pain I had to stop taking it. I will have another appointment to discuss either re-trying Tecfidera or going onto something else, but I was wondering if anyone else has had such a bad reaction to the tablets? #treatment #tecfidera #newlydiagnosed #RRMS

Hi bankole1, How long were you on it? I have been on it for almost two months, I've had a few side effects but it's been minor such as flushing, bloating, sore stomach. I was told the effects will diminish in a couple months and im hoping so as well so i'm giving it a bit of time. I can live with it too if it doesn't its just not super pleasant.

Hi @ben2021, I was only on it for a week but felt like it was draining the life out of me! The side effects you describe seem to be what most people on it experience, so mine were definitely unusual. Thanks for sharing.
