Kesimpta

Hello 👋 After my latest mri showed active MS I have been advised to switch my DMT. I am currently on Avonex which has been my 3rd DMT after struggling with copaxone and Plegridy. I have just gotten used to the Avonex but have been advised to switch to Kesimpta. I am now due a nurse appointment for my first injection. Just wanting advice from anyone who is on kesimpta and how the first injection went? Any nasty effects?

Hi, my wife is just about to take her 3rd Kesimpta injection tommorow. The 1st and 2nd were ok. The nurse visit was very useful, the injection didn't really register, she was very tired a day after the 1st Injection but that was all. She switched to that from Plegridy which wasn't really good for her, severe headaches, fatigue and bad flu like symptoms soon after a injection, also a bruise around the injection site that would not go away. Plegridy really effected her mental health, so a switch was very important for her and for me. Kesimpta was recommended by her consultant and so far so good. Hopefully you're experience is as good as can be. Time will tell what it is doing to her MS but it's a thumbs up from us so far.

Hi I’ve been on Kesimpta for a year now and been really lucky with no side effects. I had a headache the day of my first injection but the nurse was really supportive. I was on Copaxone prior so if you managed ok injecting you won’t have a problem with Kesimpta. Best of luck
