Fampyra (Fampridine)

If you don't know Fampyra is new drug which, has been developed for MS to improve walking speed and nerve conduction in general. I've been taking this for just over a week now and I am to be feeling good affects. Walking is better and I seem to have more energy. I feel a bit like the old me!! Now this drug is not approved by NICE so, it's not available on the NHS. The drug company give you a months free trial to see if your a responder (which I am I think......could be placebo!) then it's £190 a month!! How the hell am i going to find this money? I am a chemist and i've seen Breaking Bad but there's gotta be an easier option!! I am hoping work may be able to help!!
@Cazzzzzy

Wow sounding great! (Not the cost obviously, I mean the good effects!) This was mentioned to me but yes the cost put me off... It all seems so unfair but hopefully in time it will become available at a more affordable cost!? I have read good things about drug! Hope it all works out for you! xxx

@Stumbler

The Americans have been using AP4 for sometime, but they needed a dispensing chemist to provide it. Fampyra is yet another example of pharmaceutical capitalism. They took AP4 and produced a timed release version, which they licensed and can charge their asking price. It does make you wonder, who NICE and the current legislation is protecting, us or the pharmaceutical companies....... Sorry, guys, feeling very cynical tonight.
