March 6th, 2024- I was diagnosed

My first known symptom began in October 2018, my hand tremor. The main reason I always seem to have my hand in a brace. But March 2021 was when it got to its peak. I lost all feeling in my right leg. I began to go to a chiropractor to seek some help. It worked for a while but I slowly began to lose feeling in my left leg and then slowly both legs. Walking became such a challenge. I began feeling like I was losing my mind when I lost vision in one eye, my hand began tremoring, and I couldn’t walk. After 8 doctors not listening to me and telling me “I don’t know.” or “You gotta live with it”, I finally found a doctor who advocated for me and sent me in the right direction. There I found a doctor who listened to me, who saw all the symptoms, and who did the test to find my diagnosis. MS can cause many different symptoms to many different people. As of right now, there is no cure for MS. The best thing I can do for myself is to take medicine, go to therapy, go back to do annual checkups, and learn my brand-new lifestyle. All I will ask is for everyone to treat others kindly because you truly don’t know what they're going through. And to all those people who ever doubted me, told me to “Grow a Pair”, or even laughed at my symptoms, I hope Karma finds you. My name is Sharon Argueta and I am a MS Warrior.

Well said! MS reminds us to consider the invisible (and visible) suffering in those around us...and show some empathy and kindness and patience!
