MRI tomorrow

I’m finally having my head and c-spine mri tomorrow. I’m scared. Scared of the scan itself, scared of the results. Can’t quite relax this evening.

I had mine last week and it's shorter than you think. I just closed my eyes and focused on my breathing like I was doing relaxation or trying to go to sleep. Close your eyes before you go in to the mri machine and don't open them until they tell you it's done. It worked well for me and hope it works for you too 💛. The nurses are fabulous and you get a button to squeeze ifyou start to struggle but it's 10 mins of your life that can give you some answers 💛. The answers are different and I hear you there, I was really hoping to get my results this week and find myself getting anxious but I think it's best to know and to be able to deal with the outcome then not be able to deal with it. Let us know how you get on and good luck, you are doing a brave thing getting the answers you need x

The last MRI scan I had they had to wake me up when it finished 😄. I did the breathing concentration trick too well, I also like the sound of the Helium pump, it's got a great "club beat" sound. You can Google for MRI sounds so that it's less of a surprise when you're in the scanner. If you accept that you probably have MS, then getting confirmation from the scan means that you can get treatment. The earlier MS is diagnosed & treated, the better the long term prognosis. With many people, starting on a highly effective DMT (Disease Modifying Therapy) early will prevent any more relapses. Since my diagnosis a few years ago I've been on Tysabri and haven't had a relapse since. As well as here, check out the MS Society & MS Trust websites for information about the different treatments available so you know what questions to ask your Neurologist when deciding what DMT to use. Good luck for tomorrow, the waiting and anticipation are worse than the scan 👍
