Disability payments

Hey friends! Just wondering if there is anyone from Canada who has gone through the process to leave work and collect disability payments? I’m trying to understand how it all works. The last episode I had in 2020 left me in pretty bad shape. I never regained feeling in my right arm/ shoulder and that entire side of my body hasn’t been normal since. Currently, I’m at work full time, I have a desk job but even that is hard..I need to prepare for the possibility of stopping all together. Are the payments enough to live off of in today’s economy? Any tips would be great!

@Righteousbabe01 it’s may take awhile for Cpp disability to start making payment to your account. You are the perfect age to shift careers if that’s what you want. I’m 44 and still doing the same work for 20 years now I should actually put more of an emphasis on change as well. We have a lot of time to do whatever we want no?

Sorry for the late response .. thanks for the insight! If we are to get our CPP early would that effect the amount we have to retire on? I have 0 retirement savings ... the future is scary!
