Uk based diagnoses query

Hi I'm based in the UK and have been on a long waiting list to see a neurologist, I'm due to see them in January but as I have extreme fatigue and can sleep anywhere at anytime I've been referred to a sleep clinic also, the sleep clinic's appointment came and it's under neurology as this is in November it's earlier than January and I'm wondering if this sleep clinic may be able to diagnose MS, if anyone has any experience of being in a similar situation that'd be amazing ☺️

Hello sleep clinic can’t diagnose MS. The basics are an MRI and a lumbar puncture. You can only get lumbar puncture on the NHS. But the MRI and the consultant to interpret it you can get privately. It will cost £200 for MRI and £200 for consultant. If you don’t want to wait, go to your GP and ask for a private Referal. Then look for closest consultant (try the BUPA consultant finder. I’m d they find lesions then you’ll get bumped up the waiting list xx

No they can't diagnosis MS only a Neurologist can. My LP almost 3 yrs ago was negative but my MRI had multiple brain lesions and a couple of c spine lesions basically your neck. My Neurologist confirmed demylination. My most recent MRI found a new lesion and I got a formal diagnosis and offer of drugs.
