Fatigue & Amantadine

Hi all, been a while since I last posted. I have had a lot of issues with Fatigue and my MS nurse has suggested that I try Amantadine, has anyone else used this before, (states that only works for about a 1/3 of diagnosed MS with fatigue.... Other news I have recently had a hand operation that then got infected and wiped me out even more than usual.... Still fighting and looking forwards to getting into a new style of walking called "Rucking" in essence walking with weight on.... this will be a substitute for the running that I can no longer do..... but will have to wait till hand is fixed and also have my next Ocrevus infusion soon, (had the bloods yesterday) Take care

Around 10 years ago, and after my MS diagnosis, I was inadvertently hit in the head with a 300 yard drive (golf ball). After a few days it was determined that I did suffer a concussion. A doctor prescribed Amantadine to give some relief to the concussion “pressure” in my head. I will say it offered some relief. I took it just for a couple months. I remember them saying that it may provide me with more energy regarding my MS symptoms as well. I think I stopped taking it simply because I was already taking a combination of nerve pain medications and, at least for me, I wasn’t taking it primarily for energy and I wanted to take one less pill each day. However, I don’t recall any negative side effects from it. Certainly talk with your doctor about whether it is sensible to take it long term or in combination with other meds.
