My Veins are now useless, what next?.
I need to have some Blood Samples taken before my next dose of Ocrevus on Nov 1st so, today a District Nurse visited me at home to take some blood and to change the bandages on my lower legs due to Ulcers and Blisters, or Cellulitus as it's known. When it came to taking the blood, it was completely useless, my veins are unresponsive, both in terms of showing up through the skin and giving blood. 3 times she tried and got absolutely nothing out of me so, tomorrow the IV Doctor or Nurses are paying me a visit, hopefully they'll be able to get some blood out of me.
Hi Peter, maybe you could ask about a change in DMD. Kesimpta is very similar to Ocrevus and you give it yourself as a subcutaneous injection (just under the skin). The only thing is that neither Ocrevus or Kesimpta are usually available to SPMS which I can see you've listed yourself as having but if you're getting one, maybe you're eligible for the other! Alternatively you could ask about changing to an oral med like siponimod.
@mellowmedusa Hi, I'm no longer an SPMSer I'm now a PPMSer, I'll have to edit and update my Profile. I remember having Siponimod mentioned to me a few years ago, before Covid put the world on Pause but, nothing ever came of it. I've only had the first dose of Ocrevus, due to have the next dose next month. Not heard of this Kesimpta Drug before but, then again how and why would I have done when I no longer have an MS Nurse that checks on me or a Doctor. The only time I get anything from the Hospital normally it's for yet another MRI scan.
