Blaming MS for my anxiety

First post here 🙂 I was wondering if anyone of you can relate to the following; Apart from MS I was also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder 2 years ago. I now find that I seem to blame my MS for my anxiety. For example; due to covid-19 I don't drive a lot anymore. When I do have to drive, this causes me anxiety because I haven't done it for such a long time. I seem to find excuses related to my MS to avoid these situations ("I can't drive now, I'm too tired/my concentration of focus is not well today) that make me anxious, instead of just dealing with them (which seem to help me become less anxious about them). I was wondering if anyone of you can relate and more importantly, if you have some words of advice to help me cope and stop overthinking everything and blaming my MS for it all. Thanks! 🤗

Yes, there is a strong correlation between MS and Depression/Anxiety. I've been DX'd with both MS and Bi-Polar but they seem strongly related. I was doing better when I was seeing a therapist and taking an antidepressant, though I'm not now and I'm really feeling it There's nothing to feel guilty about 'blaming' MS because MS can mess with you emotionally and psychologically and it just is what it is. Regardless of the 'cause', whether it's MS or another mental health issue, you still have to live with the results I would take to your neurologist about it and seek out counseling to have someone to help talk to and guide you, it can help a lot if you can. An anti-anxiety medication can help a lot
