Wii Fit for balance

Hi! When I went to my last appointment with my neurologist he recommended getting a Wii and doing the balance board games to improve my balance. My friend's mum very kindly gave me the whole shebang and I tried a couple of balance and yoga games for the first time today (I was very bad in them all, no surprise there)! Is this something other people have done and did you find it helpful? Also, has anyone also used it to lose weight?
@potter

I do a routine of exercises I got from a physical therapist, I went in for leg cramps. The exercises include improving balance and lots of stretching, I throw in a little Tai Chi. I decided to add the Wii Fit to my exercise routine, I did horrible at it and was sore for a week. It did tell me that I had the balance of someone 10 years younger than me. I decided to stick to my original routine. Potter

Hi @potter, thanks for your reply! I was doing tai chi and some balance exercises but wasn't really improving, I started doing pilates which I think has helped but I won't be able to go to pilates classes from next month so I wanted something that would keep challenging me. I downloaded the sworkit app which I liked...I also quite like variation so it's probably good for me to have a few options! I tried the Wii at lunch time and it said I had a balance age of someone 6 years younger than me, and then did it again about 5.30pm and it said I was performing 6 years older than my age! My balance is just so variable.
