Newly diagnosed....

Hi, I was diagnosed with RRMS last August (2021). I've had symptoms for years, but no one believed me. Time & time again I was told I must have a virus. I'm glad I now finally have a diagnosis many years later. However I'm struggling to cope with work, and my worst symptoms which are fatigue & depression. Any help appreciated..

Welcome @Manxgal75 - have you let your work know? HR should arrange a consultation with Occupational Health who are there to mediate between you and work to get the best for both. Your symptoms sound very much like my own, meds will help but it will take some time so give yourself some room for adjustment.

Hey @Manxgal75 I’m hear u loud I suffer from the same. Diet, exercise & mindfulness. insight timer app is good for free yoga & meditation audios & diet depends on what works for u (I’m currently trying gluten, dairy & sugar free but early days) Fatigue meds- Modafinil/provigil (for narcolepsy off label ms fatigue) neuro can prescribe Amantadine (Parkinson med off label ms fatigue) neuro can prescribe. Pro plus - caffine tablets can pretty much buy anywhere but if u have bladder issues or anxiety may have an impact. Fluoxetine (antidepressant sometimes but rarely used off label for ms fatigue) gp can prescribe for depression/anxiety Depression- Antidepressant’s or KALMS herbal based tabs (valerian most chemists but mainly used for anxiety) Supplements that can improve mood can’t think off the top of my head but I’m sure u will get some advice from others soon great site for advice from those that know! Hope u get sorted soon wish I had better advice Take care 🤞👍
