Tysabri to Ocrevus
Hi all this is my first post and have been quietly in the background…interested in other’s thoughts or opinions…so I’ve had a conversation with my neurologist yesterday as after 12 months of tysabri I am experiencing quite bad flares ups post infusion for at least 7 days afterwards we did discuss going to 6 weekly rather than 4 but also discussed a complete change to Ocrevus. I decided to take the leap and change, I am no very nervous about this and think maybe I should have chosen 6 weekly first before coming off tysabri? I’m JC negative and my last scan didn’t show any new lesions! Just looking for advice really!! So confused thanks in advance
I switched from Tysabri to Ocrevus last year but I had to do it as I'm JCV+. Ocrevus gave me a lot of covid anxiety which I didn't have before given the vaccines don't work and your immune system is compromised. The first 2 doses also landed me in bed for 2 weeks (so a month unwell in total). But I've heard that's uncommon and the next dose 6 months later was fine. I also felt unwell after Tysabri but only for 2-3 days, and nowhere near as unwell as after those first Ocrevus doses. This is just my experience though. Good thing about it is that it's every 6 months and you don't need to think about it in between, go to the hospital etc. Good luck with your choice x
@lemon thank you it’s nice to know others experience good thing is I haven’t done the switch yet so I have a bit of time to think! It’s all so new I was only diagnosed April 2021
