How do you know?

Hi folks, I’m new to the group and only just recently diagnosed with MS (literally four weeks ago) - The reason I was finally diagnosed was because I had pins and needles in my hand, numbness in my arm (the feeling that you get when you go to the dentist and get a tooth out and then touch your mouth and it’s all numb) which also went into my leg a little bit, my arm was heavy, I couldn’t even write properly and my thumb was twitching on its own which then turned into full arm spasms. I actually thought I had a trapped nerve in my shoulder. Turns out it was arthritis in my shoulder and MS everywhere else 😞 Anyway throughout my life I have suffered with chronic pain and odd feelings in my body, muscle and joint pain, tingling and pins and needles, twitching eye, twitching extremities amongst other things. We are still also waiting of a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and ME. So what I’m worried about is how will I know when I’m having an MS flare? Because weird things happening with my body is normal I’m concerned I won’t know or I’ll be too quick to say “Oh I’m having a flare up!” Sorry for such a long post, I’m just wondering how you guys can tell it’s MS and not something else. Thanks Leisha x

Pins and needles depending where the lessons are on your brain. Usually in my case my whole right or left side of body goes numb. That’s a flare up. Everybody is different. You can live a normal life. You’ll learn more about yourself. I actually think I’m a better person because of MS. It shaped who I am today. Keep your head up, and always think positive as hard as it is! God chooses strong badass people that can deal this beast. Reach out when needed Joey
