Story time - PIP & PPMS

Sitting comfortably ??? Then I will begin... In 2019 I was awarded Enhanced Mobility PIP, I had quite bad mobility issues. With that award I got a Motability Car. Life was good :-) In 2021 my GP tried to increase my pain medication - I refused as wanted to know why I was in so much pain. I was referred to a Physiotherapist. This is where I cut a long story very short - physio found something wrong, then a neurologist found something wrong, then an MRI found something wrong and then a lumbar puncture found something wrong. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had another MRI in December 2021, In February 2022 I was confirmed as Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Then....... As I was in receipt of PIP and I had been confirmed as having PPMS - I decided to write to PIP with a "Change of Circumstance". I was invited for an interview and I sent in all of my supporting documents (PPMS diagnosis letter, Physio info, urology info and all medication). Four weeks later I receive the result - PIP Cancelled!! This meant that I lost my car.... The irony is that on the same day I got the letter telling me that my PIP was cancelled (meaning I would lose my car), I also got confirmation from the DVLA that I was on a 3 year medical drivers licence!! I decided to go down the Mandatory Reconsideration route and began to collate everything I needed for that. Then I thought about the Adult Disability Payment (a new system in place that replaced PIP in Scotland). ADP was exactly the same as PIP but just not administered by PIP (if that makes sense). So I phoned ADP and yes, as they are a totally different benefit to PIP I was allowed to apply (I also live in Scotland). Motability is allowing me to keep my car until the 25th October thankfully. So my ADP application is now in progress.... and my fingers and toes are crossed :-) (PS During all of the above I also had to have another MRI done as my MS unfortunately took a turn for the worse and I am waiting on the results of that MRI as I type) Lets see what happens..................
