Work!!!!

Hello everyone, I am sat here thinking about work tomorrow morning, I am finding harder and harder to even go! I have quite a manual job I have expressed my concern with work that they have not conducted a Risk Assesment on. Thus said they have stated that they will be contacting advice from Occy Health, this is still to be done though? I have PPMS was diagnosed 3 years back but had issues for many years since being in the Army. Sorry I have gone off script a little, so work still expects me to do what I do even if I feeling knackered, Im just worried that they are going to dismiss me over this due to not been capable of fulfilling my job role.

Hi Gavin - Welcome to here! I too have PPMS. I too was mis-handled with work and procedures for employees with a disability. Have you got a union? My management backed right off and were suddenly as nice as pie as soon as I involved my union. I hope it's an opion for you. I wish you well. Gerard.

@Gavin80 they need to involve Occupational health and do a risk assessment. Under the DDA they have to make reasonable adjustments to enable you to continue to do your job. How long have you worked for the Company , are you entitled to any employee benefits ? Have you applied for PIP or ESA ? Could you reduce your hours at all ? Do you have critical illness cover or income protection insurance ? I would get in contact with the legal arm of MS Society who can help you with employment law and also their benefits advisors in case you need to claim. Do not resign , go on the Sick if you are unable to continue to work. Take care and I hope that any reasonable adjustments enable you to continue to work.
