ESA benefit

Firstly, Hi everyone. I have had to cut down my hours at work as I sit at a desk on the phone all day. This is due yo pain and fatigue. I completed the ESA forms but they have told me I need doctors certificates to complete my claim. I am eligible for it. I have never heard of this and as I have remained in work and not been signed off I am unsure what the Dr can do for me. Has anyone else been through this. I want to keep my job and independence. Thank you Donna

You might be able to get the advice you need from your local authority if they have a service to help with benefits/cost of living to guide you through. otherwise citizens advice or turn2us Employment Support Allowance is usually for people who can't work due to illness so if you're still at work it may be you need to claim another welfare benefit. Good luck
