Starting Tecfidera TODAY

And somewhat anxious!!! Had been on Avonex for eight months and really struggled with the side effects. I jumped at the chance of taking an oral medication and there was a choice of two. Hope I've made the right one!!! Anyone else had any experience of this medication??0_o

I started taking DiMethylFumarate (Tecfidera) in January 2013. The first small positive improvements came silently after a few months. But, as I was feeling a negative slide in the months before, I took a round of steroids in early January 2013 - so there might have been a cumulative effect too. Even nowadays (19 months on the pills) I keep realizing, that another one from my heap of symptoms has gotten less severe! Due to my life-long digestion trouble, I thought never to be able to 'accept' oral treatment. Luckily, I was wrong about that assumption - active components of the medication get processed and are very effective; and at the same time my digestion has actually gotten a bit BETTER. Keeping in mind, the my digestion got troubled during the first 2 months on DMF. Also the blushing incidents faded after 6 months and disappeared completely 12 months after I started DMF. I wish You same, or even better success with Tecfidera :-)
