Shearings Holidays surcharge

hi I and my wife have been on holidays with Shearings about 30 times over the years both by coach and self drive and we have found them great and good value for money. But I was really suprised and upset to be told that if I take either my mobility scooter or electric wheelchair I will be charged an extra 5 pound if I am driving myself or 10 pound if going by coach. When I enquired as to the reason , I was told it was to cover the cost of charging my scooter or wheelchair. I am normally pretty positive about being descriminated against for being disabled , but in this case I feel its pretty blatent , and am pretty annoyed , how do the rest of you feel ?

@hank Probably not the answer you wish to hear - there is no discrimination involved. A corporation exists to make a profit; no other reason whatsoever. If Google Search is accurate, Shearings has existed for 100 years; they were founded in 1919. They have 100 years of knowledge & experience. Supposedly they are doing something correct to have served you properly for holidays "about 30 times over the years" as you wrote. It sucks that they are adding a surcharge for the cost of charging "your scooter or wheelchair". But unless you can prove otherwise, this is an added expense to their corporation. And since they are not a taxpayer funded Social Service organization - who should pay?

@Stumbler

@hank , I'm tempted to agree with @edmontonalberta . Is there a surcharge for a standard non-powered wheelchair?
