New To Medication

Hi Apologies if this is a common thread, I couldn't see any posts when I searched so thought I'd post my own. I was diagnosed with RRMS in March 2018 after suffering with Optic Neuritis in November 2017, I then fell pregnant in May 2018 so all MS medication discussion was put on hold. I was warned that I could experience a relapse after labour but so far no new symptoms just the usual fatigue (baby or MS I'm not sure!) and slight numbness in my left hand. I have been so lucky to not experience any episodes but I am now in a dilemma as at my last appointment earlier this year my Neurologist and MS nurse advised that no medication would be looked at until I experience a relapse. A lot of articles and profiles I follow are quick to say start meds asap but I am in two minds...do I need push to start medication before I experience a relapse or am I ok to continue as I am meds free until such time that I 'need' it? Any advice and guidance is very much appreciated Thanks Lucy

@lucywaleslucywales Hi and welcome to the club 😀 So look at this way the neurologist wants you to wait until you have another relapse before you get on a DMT? Kinda like shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted.... MS will come back eventually. So in my humble opinion. Get on a DMT fairly quickly.. But the choice is yours. Feel free to ask anything you like we'll try and find an answer one way or another. Welcome again 😀

@lucywales I've put my glasses on I can now see what I'm doing.... Underneath your original post above you'll see some boxes relating to some of the things that you mentioned. Click on them and it'll take you to other posts made about that subject. I'm sure you'll get more replies soon. My wife had me neutered many years ago.
