MS and mental health

Do you think all people with MS have some sort of mental health challenges post diagnosis? I have just realised how difficult a time it was going through diagnosis ect. I did have IAPT as well as loads of other interventions and support. But now my mental health is better I realise looking back how poor it was..... paranoid about what others thought of me! Anxious about the future and current. Depressed about diagnosis and changes to my life, what was ‘taken away’ I think most people should get help to work through post diagnosis implications and nest steps.

This was timed perfectly! One month post diagnosis and reality is setting in. Rational me knows it’s going to get easier but unbelievably tired, emotional and stressed me can’t see the light. First appointment with the ms nurse next week and I’m already an emotional wreck. Glad to see someone who’s been there and come out the other side! Thank you x

No treally. My mom had a lot of mental challenges through my entire youth with the final diagnosis of bi-polar so I'm quite guarded with my emotions a strong "in control" person, so no- I was just relieved it as something with a name and by the time I was diagnosed my symptoms had faded away and I was put on a DMT (copaxone)...looking back I likely would have freaked out more if there weren't any DMTs or my symptoms were awful or frequently recurring...
