Does anybody on Mavenclad know?

I am due to start my second round in November and am booked in for my MRI etc, but my MS team are being their usual non-responsive self. I’ll keep trying, and I’ve emailed Adviva, but does anybody know if we’re being asked to isolate again for the first 12 weeks of treatment? I fell in this period with the start of Covid so had to shield, but was allowed to come out of it early after speaking to my consultant as my lymphocytes were okay, however they’re obviously going to drop again and cases are on the up. I’m not overly concerned either way, I just want to try and plan something with work so I’m not twiddling my thumb’s if I have to stay home!

I had to go into isolation at the beginning of lockdown because I was within 6 months of my last dose but then I came out as my lymphocytes were higher then one. Check with MS nurses but I think it should be ok as long as you take the necessary precautions, I did catch a bit of flu off my son about 2 months after my dose but it came out as a cold. I take alot of vitamin D. Goodluck with it all 😊.

@chezy17
Hi i am on week four of my first mavenclad treatment. I am due a blood test but my gp has not had any information from the ms team about what type of blood test I am due and to can’t get hold of any nurses. I am due to start the nxt week of medication. Do you know what I should be asking for? It’s so frustrating how hard it is to get hold of a nurse but at least my gp is great. Thanks

Thank you both. Yes I had to shield because my first round was within 3 months. I’ve spoken to my nurse and if I want to go ahead with my second course I need to isolate again for 12 weeks, hurrah πŸ™„. @kochrane-85 they will be mainly checking your lymphocyte levels but the Adveva nurses got in touch with me to arrange mine. I don’t think it was as early as 4 weeks though, I think it was 4 weeks after I’d taken the second lot of tablets.

Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply, I’ve had what I think is a cold but I think it’s more likely covid because a cold didn’t make me lose my smell and taste πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I can smell but taste, not so much. My children and I are at 3 different schools so blind to catch things πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š.

I had to have full blood count, liver function test and U and E which I think is my Kidney. I also had to have a hiv test and something else which I can’t remember but it’s just to make sure you’re healthy to have the treatment.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheryl
