De-bunk myth

On my Facebook this popped up Every week, around 130 people are diagnosed with MS. Most people have heard of MS, but many don’t realise how it can affect you. We want to change that. This week, we’re launching our #MSUncovered campaign to sort the facts from the myths, show the different faces of MS and raise understanding, now and in the future. Please share these images on your social media to help us spread the word It's from the MSTust and one of the images sets "MS is more than 3 times as common in women than in men" Well MSTrust that might be true for certain types of MS but not for PPMS as your own website states "About equal numbers of men and women are diagnosed with primary progressive MS whereas relapsing remitting MS is more common in women." And that we are 1 in 8 of the 130 people per week diagnosed with MS." I am not putting any form of MS down but you would think the MSTrust and their #MSUncovered campaign might want to de-bunk their own myth. I am awaiting a response from them

Got a reply Multiple Sclerosis Trust Hi Craig, Thank you for your enquiry. Our information is evidence-based and the fact mentioned on our MSUncovered post is correct that overall with MS, it is nearly three times more common in women than in men. However, on our Primary Progressive MS section on our website it does state that about equal numbers of men and women are diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS whereas Relapsing Remitting MS is more common in women. You can read this fact here: https://www.mstrust.org.uk/a-z/primary-progressive-ms So MS is more common in women than men for RRMS (knew that) but not in PPMS so we will say that in MS it is!
