Advice on exercise please

Hi all I'm having issues with what I've learned from my doc is called Uhthoff's syndrome, so anytime my core temp is elevated I have an exacerbation of my symptoms. I need to lose weight, and I really want to get my body in order so as to help it work as good as possible as it will get more difficult with time. Be proactive, as they say. My problem now is, what kinds of exercise can I do besides take walks? How do you handle exercise and Uhthoffs? Any and all tips are so greatly appreciated I don't even have words for it, I'm desperate and scared that I won't get myself in order before this gets worse.

Can you exercise in a gym? They normally have air conditioning. Or what about swimming? Harder for your body to heat up in water, even if the water is heated itself. Alternatively you could try short exercise videos or body weight exercises at home. For losing weight, diet is really the thing.

I cant diet, I just cant....I enjoy food and drink too much. I can only control weight by moving more. Uhthoff's syndrome is quite common with MS. I use an indoor exercise bike with a big fan and the doors and windows open, early in the morning when its cooler to minimise any symptoms. Use a Heart Rate monitor to keep the effort down to minimise overheating. Just stop and rest for a few minutes if you get too hot. The symptoms will ease / pass quite quickly once you cool down. Just stay on the bike don't try to get off until your balance etc has settled down. Also agree gym is a good option, as you wont get as hot....but a multi gym for safety, not free weights.
