Medication for secondary progressive

Hi guys was just wondering if any of you who have spms has found a medication good for aching and stiffness.. Although most of my body hurts I'm having trouble with my left leg it aches like mad has burning in the shin and the muscles are bouncing all over. I was diagnosed in July 2015 with secondary so I was unable to have any of the disease mod drugs. Finding hard to find something that works. Can anyone recommend anything ☺️

Hi @scooby76 , whilst we're not "eligible" for any Disease Modifying Treatments (DMTs), we still need meds and other assistance to help out with some of the annoying symptoms that you mention. Contact your MS Nurse to discuss these issues. A Neuro-physio assessment may be useful and/or a muscle relaxant, e.g. Baclofen and a pain med, e.g. Pregabelen.

My SPMS pal's neuro has suggested high-dose statins. The trials for this are ongoing so he's sticking his neck out a bit - she's just hoping her GP will prescribe them. The only other thing I've heard of is LDN, which is available on private prescription. I'm sure lots of people on shift know about this so there'll be info here if you ask. xx
