Spasticity

Hi, hope all is as well as can be and for anyone new to your new reality, it’s not as bad as you might imagine. I’m looking for advice regarding spasticity. I had hsct in 2018, no idea if I’m in remission as I’m not sure that there is anyway of knowing seeing as I’ve had for over forty years but I’m feeling good, which has got to be a plus. I’m now off gabapitin, and halved my dose of tizanidine. I’m exercising regularly but still stiffness in my legs and feet are my biggest problem. Has anyone got any natural tips to reduce it? I’ve just ordered magnesium and am starting micro dosin.

Hi Sorry I don’t have any advice for you. You mentioned that you had hsct….can you share details and if your symptoms or EDSS have improved any from it?

@spunky at diagnosis in 2015 I was 3.5 by the time I had hsct in 2018 I was 5.5, fast forward to now and I'm 6/ 6.5 Edss is a blunt measurement and really doesn't add up to much other than a snapshot of one forty minute appointment with a neurologist. I'd say my walking is worse but most of my other symptoms are stable or improved. When I had my hsct in Moscow, two patients died in isolation, after getting complications. One was a 64 year old male, the other was a young lady in her late twenties, both were over weight but had passed the three day comprehensive testing we all had to go through. Of all the people I've stayed in contact with, most are stable or improved. No medication or treatment is with out risks and it will be a very personal decision if you decide this is for you. I have absolutely no regrets and I stay in contact with the 64 year olds wife and a friend of the young girl, both are sure that everything was done medically to save them from the infections they had and they feel that although it ended in death they knew the risk and was more than happy to take it.
