Cancelling mri severe anxiety

Hi, I have a mri booked for next week, I have been suffering with severe anxiety around going in the mri. Ask neurologist to give me something to keep me calm, I haven't heard back from them. Doctor said take 0.5 mg of clonazepam,.I have been on clonazepam for over 10 years for tremors,so I know it won't work, as I have tried it during the day before, and I am still anxious. I have been put on setraline for my severe anxiety, but it won't get in my system for about 2 weeks. My anxiety around mri is extremely high as I answered a questionnaire regarding it. It has been brought to light that I am probably suffering from chrostaphobia. The thought, and pure anxiety of the mri is making me feel ill.

I haven’t been diagnosed but have multiple symptoms. Best of luck to you with your MRI

@Clary

The more MRIs I have, the more claustrophobic I become. I really dislike 👎 MRI. There is no law that says you have to have one, but this may affect your treatment 🤷‍♀️. The radiologist department might be able to advocate for you, and get a medication prescribed that helps. Definitely worth contacting the X-ray department. All the best.
