Generic Tecfidera

Hi Everyone! Has anyone had any issues since their Tecfidera has been move to the generic version of the medication? I've been on the generic version for around 3 weeks now- since moving to the new medication I've been flushing literally every night, even after taking an antihistamine and aspirin it's taken ages for the flush to calm itself down. I'm also more tired than I have ever been, to the point where I spent all weekend sleeping on the sofa during the day and I've generally felt pretty rubbish. I had a neuro appointment last week- I went through how the new medication is working with me. She said that it might just need a period of adjustment, but it was too early to see if an issue with more people who are on the "new" medication as our Health Trust has only recently changed the medication
@Kiko41

I had the same issues as you but with the original techfidera gave up after 9 very long and exhausted months. switched to aubagio and now I’m taking kesimpta. set yourself a target’ if it doesn’t get better by …’ then I’m gonna stop and change meds. that’s what I did the point of the DMT’s is that you go on the highest efficacy med that you can ‘tolerate’ ie the side effects of. so if there’s if there’s no way you can change back brands then maybe consider swapping either way best of luck, take care of you and I hope your situation improves soon 🤞💪🍀👍😊

@Kiko41 thank you 😁 I've been on Tecfidera for around 8 years now. Apart from the occasional flush it really worked for me, had no new MS activity since starting it. I'm gonna see how it goes, I've got an appointment with one of my nurses in a few weeks so 🤞it will sort itself out (eventually)
