Using MS as a crutch????

Someone told my daughter I use my MS as a crutch. Ugh... sure at first it took me a long time to wrap my head around being sick all the time but to tell my kids that without even knowing me??? Ugh. It pisses me off!!! How do I repond??? I know noone understands but this was a doctor!!!! Grrrrr....

That's deplorable, @livinwithms . Do you have the same patient confidentiality that we have in the UK? I should imagine you do, so if this was a Doctor that told this to your daughter, then they are on very thin ice.

Good God @livinwithms. What kind of doctor is he? Unless he's your doctor & you gave him authorization to divulge to that specific person, he has no right to discuss your case. HIPPA! If not your doctor, and not specialized in MS, he has no business even giving his opinion. Your own doctor only knows your complete list of limits because you yourself divulge to him your symptoms & what causes you setbacks. If it were me, because I am so inclined, I'd confront him & ask what makes him so smart about an illness that even the experts are stumped by. It's already hard enough for out families to know our limits, even the ones who live in the same house as us.
