Healing time when sick

Hi all, I was diagnosed with M.S. in March of this year after 6 years of symptoms going ignored by doctors or misdiagnosed. I have severe asthma and prone to pneumonia. I'm currently fighting a pneumonia infection and I feel so incredibly weak. It takes so much energy to get out of bed that I've taken a nap after every restroom break. Is this normal? Anyone have similar experiences, or advice to get back on my feet? Im a working mother of 4, with an amazing husband. But I feel horrible bring struck in bed.

Hi @helenricks and welcome. Any infection will activate your compromised immune system, which is bad news for your MS and its related symptoms. This causes a "pseudo-exacerbation", which isn't a real relapse. The deterioration in your MS symptoms, e.g. fatigue, is just temporary, until the underlying infection is cleared.

@potter

I was diagnosed with pneumonia one year a day before Christmas, my husband was with me at the aptt. She told him that I needed completed bed rest for two weeks and that he had to take care of me. He did and I felt better before the two weeks was up but I still did the two weeks. Potter
