Confused

Hi All I had my meeting with Neuro and I am a little confused! I have it now confirmed I have had 2 relaspes but my last MRI which was in July showed nothing new under the contrast and they say it has to show (something - tech terminology! that I have forgotten :-( ) now they only want to see me in 12 months unless I have more relaspes but they will not book any MRI's so I want to get on DMT (is that the right thing??) as it is getting worse since I was diagnosed in Feb, but it's all gradual and only feelings and tiredness. What do I do? is it right on the MRI front? felt the meeting was a bit of a waste of time and the MS nurses told me last time I wasn't having a relasp when the consultant said I was so don't trust the MS nurses. Sorry to be a bit random with thoughts Thanks all for reading
@Stumbler

@shona12 , if you have been given a formal diagnosis, I would have expected for you to be offered a Disease Modifying Treatment (DMT). This does tend to go against the recommendations of NICE (https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg186). There's some more basic details in this introduction to DMTs :- https://support.mstrust.org.uk/file/disease-modifying-treatments-introduction.pdf You need to contact your MS Nurse again, as you're not seeing the Neuro for 12 months. The bottom line is that if you have a formal diagnosis then where is the treatment? On the subject of what is and isn't a relapse, refer to this website :- https://www.mstrust.org.uk/understanding-ms/ms-symptoms-and-treatments/relapse . By the way, having been told that you have mild MS is like saying you're a little bit pregnant! Hope this helps.

Thanks @stumbler - I keep getting quoted NICE guidelines by them and he said 2 relapses and what ever the tech bit of the MRI under contrast - so they will not consider it! :-( ok I will try the MS nurses but they seem next to useless :-( thanks for Listerning
