Are there many MS’ers that are over 50 and doing well?

I’m 52 and I’ve done really well. The past year I was walking 2-3 miles at a time and lifting weights 4 times a week. I’m currently fighting a relapse that started at the end of February and I’m worried I may not recover fully this time.

Hello @Ron636, great that you've done well! How long have you been diagnosed; have you chosen not to be on meds? I am 55, only diagnosed 4 years and doing OK. I have remained 'stable' but never to the point of being able to walk for miles or lift weights! I think maybe being older has made me want to focus more on creating a good quality of life and be thankful that I've had a good run before having a diagnosis at 50. I've made lots of changes and in many ways, apart from relentless symptoms, my life style is a big improvement on the previous. The most important thing is to realise that you need to take the time for your body to recover properly. Focus on the positives, and on accomplishing small things on a daily basis. Hopefully you'll get right back on track again. All the best!

Hallo Ron, I'm 61 and have MS for about 40 years. I had already many relapses and many ups and downs. I still can walk and do some exercises. I'm working full time. So please be optimistic and don't give up. I wish you the best.
