Planning a family.

Hi, I’m on tecfidera have been for a year and half, my MS has been on the non-existent side for a while now, so though it was the time to start a family. How ever spoke to my MS nurse today and she didn’t really know what I can do with being on tecfidera, Ie if there is a flushing out period being trying to conceive. So been waiting for 4 hours for her to call me back about it. Thought I would come to here if anyone on here knows anything or more info I need to read or tips. Thank you 😀

Your only option is Copaxone (glatiramer acetate) which is a daily injectable. I took it a while ago as it was cutting edge 10y or so ago. I then took Tecfidera (dimethyl fumarate DMF). I can't imagine the flushing out is very long for DMF as it requires twice daily dosing. If it were persistent then it wouldn't need that regular dosing. Have you Googled around this? I asked Google this: "what is the washout on tecfidera if i want to conceive?" and got a lot of useful replies. It has been discussed here: https://shift.ms/@claref/tecfidera--washout-period--wp414909 If you use the magnifying glass in the top right (hard to see, don't feel bad!) you can search the forum.
