In honor of MS Awareness Week: A memoir
While it's difficult to think of anything other than all things COVID-19 right now, MS is never far from my mind. Every day, there are reminders that my current MS life is vastly unlike my pre-diagnosis life, from the twice-daily medication I take and my frequent MS migraines, to muscle spasms and fatigue.
Since it's MS Awareness Week, I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. My memoir about the experience of being diagnosed and trying to come to terms with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis -- Uncomfortably Numb -- was recently published. My hope in writing this was to give voice to the discomfort, the insecurities, the fear, the unknowns that come hand-in-hand with an MS diagnosis. If anything, I wanted the MS community to know they are heard.
Stay healthy and stay safe!
