Do you smell stuff that is not around?

Hi, I was diagnosed in early December 2022 with MS. Last August 2022 I had a 2 week period where I could smell an ashtray. Since it went away on its own the Dr. Thought it could have been covid but I did not have a chance to get tested. Yesterday it started again. Today I was tested for covid and do not have it. So my ultimate question is, is this just another symptom of MS?

MS has so many symptoms I would never rule anything out. though I wish it would have been a better smell for u lol

@Mirandai thanks, I have addressed this issue to my Dr. but nothing back yet. It would be a bonus if I could smell ... strawberries or mint, that could be cool for a couple weeks.
