Lemtrada after effects

Hi Everyone Looking for a bit of advice/insights? Completed rd1 of Lemtrada on 20th October 2017 and although it's been a rough ride I have been taking things easy and hydrating. My concern is I am not sure whether I am having a relapse, pseudo and part of course from Lemtrada. Pre Lemtrada one of my issues was my leg after a relapse, in that it would tingle/pins and needles or feeling like I was walking on bare heal bone. This would only occur if I walked and would go when resting. Since yesterday the sensations are there 24/7 and more intense than before. Legs like lead weights. My body in general feels quite weak, shaky and tingling in hand which I hadn't experienced before. It's like it's gradually spreading. I am wondering if this is common as I know my body is probably in which at the moment from Lemtrada? Is an MS flare up common?

Hello @lynette09 I'm afraid I can't speak about Lemtrada. Like you, I was diagnosed this year and my DMT of choice is Tecfidera. I didn't suffer any predicted side effects. But I remember feeling straight after like my symptoms were worsening, or I was entering a relapse. That's tough, because we hang our hopes on these drugs. Anyway, I sought advice on this site and was reassured that our body reacts to foreign bodies until it can make sense of things. I also found out that others on Tec experienced similar worsening. After a while, things calibrated and it was normal again (whatever that means!). I'm sure it's the same with Lemtrada, give it time and look after yourself well. It's yet another MS endurance test for you! Call your MS nurse of GP or neuro department in the morning for reassurance. All the best x

Hi @lynette09 , if you really did finish Lemtrada two days ago, then you may be suffering from the "steroid crash". Be patient with yourself. Your immune system needs to rebuild itself before you start worrying about symptoms and relapses. Your body's been through a lot in the last few days.
