Hi all.. am new one here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Wanting some prespective .. I had one episode of numbness on my right side.. and resolved in about 10 days no other symptoms.. had mri and was told have MS.. still can’t believe it.. wondering what you would do? Would you think it wise to wait since I carry no other symptoms?
@AndreaG

Get it checked out, speak to your healthcare professionals and see what they say. Your choice but the thinking has changed recently and if you have MS, then I would start treatment, rather than leaving it until you have another relapse. I went for six years between relapses, no medication, but by the time I was having my second and third relapse, the damage had been done. I'm now on medication but I wish they hadn't waited so long to treat me.

Hi Liz, the current thinking is to hit the disease hard at the earliest opportunity, thus minimising future damage, and hopefully keep you in remission. Once the damage is done it can't be undone, so prevent it as much as possible. I'm on Tysabri, which as it targets T-cells doesn't affect your response to COVID vaccination, unlike the various B-cell targeting therapies. The only major downside is the risk of JCV (John Cunningham Virus) causing PML (Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy) which turns you into a brain-dead zombie and then kills you☹️, however it is a pretty effective treatment nonetheless😊. YMMV but whatever you do, don't wait too long to go on a treatment plan
