Gabapentin side effects school meeting

I'm not a very happy bunny at the moment went to GP about my lower back pain and numbness in right leg not all the time just when I'm sat in the armchair on the pc sideways mentioned it to my MS nurse last week she said it might sciatica. He checked me over and conclusion is sciatica carry on with Gabapentin and paracetamol no numbness in leg today. I also asked him about how long side effects can last wasn't able to tell me. This afternoon rang school to see if I can change the time of my meeting from 2.15pm to a morning appt as I am more alert was told by my friend in the office that the woman at the council in charge of HR is not available in the morning can anyone tell me how long it takes time for Gabapentin to stop making you drowsy and more alert nothing on leaflet normally with antidepressants it tells you how it can take to work i.e. about 3 months I so annoyed that I even googled it nothing comes up so looks like I will have to go to the meeting sleepy as I to able to drive one of the instructions on the label warning. @Lina , the time taken to get past the side effects of Gabapentin do unfortunately vary from person to person. It would be poetic justice if you fell asleep at the meeting! It would also be interesting to hear their response about their obligations under the Equality Act 2010 in respect of making "reasonable adjustments" for you. Just make sure you request a detailed copy of the minutes to the meeting, so that you can review them when you're more alert.

Thanks @ stumber at the moment think the only adjustment I would need is a decent chair high back soft chair as reception kids only have small chairs 4 - 5 year olds my legs are not affected at the moment so able to walk ok just the backache and the head buzzing (don't think that they can do anything about that) was on the same dosage of gabapentin as I am now when I went to my medical but was'nt getting side effects the i.e. drowsy, tired I had only been on them for about 3 days but at least she mention it in my medical report about it causing drowsiness and lack of concentration just need to get the buzzing sorted in my head now hopefully MS nurse will ring me today.
