Traveling abroad
Question on what do I need to do when traveling abroad. I’m going to Turkey in august . What do I need to do at the airport ? I.e medication ( does it need to be labelled ) do I need paperwork of my diagnosis .
Any advice on what to do with the heat ,ways to cook myself down . This is first holiday since being diagnosed and I’m not sure how I’m going to cope so this will be a test .
You need: - travel insurance in place in which you specify you have MS - meds need to be labelled with your name on (or a letter from your doctor). You don’t need paperwork of your diagnosis. Keep the meds in your carry-on. - Other people will have more tips for the heat but I’d imagine plan your most strenuous activity for morning, take a siesta midday (or Turkish equivalent), wear loose light coloured clothes, hydrate. Pace yourself - avoid excursions consecutive days. Then if you think you’ll need them there’s cooling vests, neck wraps, bra inserts. Have a good time!
@kj1002 get airport assistance in airport thru airport wheelchair as can be 1+ mile to gate.
